Welcome from all of us involved at Bikes for 'Bique! What we’re doing is,
how do you say it?...... "Thinking outside the box". Our project is a
fresh way of looking at humanitarian aid. The concept is pretty simple and
the need is great! People need work, food, and shelter
and for most of us, those things are easily accessible. You jump in your gas
guzzling car and in 5-30 minutes you can travel between any one of the
three. But in many countries, connecting those three requires a great deal
of transportation time, which means WALKING. Especially in third world
countries, and specifically in sprawling African countries like Mozambique.
Our goal isn’t to just give food handouts that make people more dependant on
foreign aid. It’s to make people in Mozambique independent! (A bike cuts
travel time 50-70% when compared with walking) Make yourself at home and
